About Dr. Shahin-Ul-Islam
A distinguished Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist with over two decades of clinical, academic and administrative excellence.
Born in Rajbari in 1976, Professor Dr. M. M. Shahin-Ul-Islam has dedicated his career to advancing digestive healthcare, pioneering advanced therapeutic endoscopic techniques, and expanding specialised medical access across central Bangladesh.
His work has brought tertiary-level gastrointestinal care to a region that previously had to refer patients to Dhaka, saving countless families time, cost and distress.
Established the Gastroenterology department at Faridpur Medical College from the ground up.
Introduced advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures to the institution.
Training the next generation of medical specialists in gastroenterology.

A historic milestone in healthcare for the region.
Entering government service in 2005, Dr. Shahin-Ul-Islam was appointed Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology in 2010. Joining Faridpur Medical College in August 2010, he achieved a historic landmark by inaugurating the Department of Gastroenterology at the institution.
He established comprehensive Outpatient (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) specialised gastrointestinal care from the ground up, bringing tertiary-level healthcare to the region for the first time.
Since 2025, he has served as Professor of Gastroenterology at Faridpur Medical College — continuing to lead patient care, train the next generation of specialists, and advocate for cutting-edge, patient-centred digestive healthcare.
